Yes, our recipes are shelf stable and should be stored in a cool, dark place (like your pantry) until used. Once wet food is opened, refrigerate any unused portion and serve within 3 - 5 days. Dry foods should be used before the best by date stamped on the bag whether the package has been opened or not. Dry food is best consumed within 2-3 months after opening under proper storage conditions.

Protein is a critically important component in a cat’s diet – in fact, it’s their most important source of energy. Our team only uses responsibly sourced protein like cage-free chicken, Marine Stewardship Council Certified (MSC) or wild-caught fish, and grass-fed beef in our recipes. We believe in uncompromising quality, especially when it comes to cat food.

Made by Nacho food is formulated specifically for cats in accordance with the nutritional standards established by the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) cat profiles. For cats with special dietary needs, such as kidney disease or diabetic issues, please check with your vet before feeding Made by Nacho recipes.

Made by Nacho does not use by-product meals. Some Made by Nacho recipes include protein meal to give cats the extra protein they need for strong and healthy muscles. Protein meal is a more concentrated source of protein because it includes bones and muscle. Protein meal is different from by-product meal, which is often made from rendered poultry carcasses (sometimes including bone) and a low-quality source of protein— Made by Nacho recipes do not include this type of by-product.

Yes! Taurine is an essential amino acid that supports vision and heart health in cats, as well as the production of bile salts that aid in digestion. Although cats require taurine to thrive, they are unable to produce a sufficient amount on their own to support these critical bodily functions. They need an adequate dietary supply or they become deficient.

What we keep out of our recipes is just as important as what we put into them. We never use corn, wheat, soy, artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Our products do not use legumes or animal byproducts. We use sweet potatoes in our grain-free dry food, as they're an excellent source of potassium, B vitamins, and beta carotene.

Our recipes were created by Nacho, Bobby, and a team of experts, including leading pet nutritionists and Nacho's lifelong veterinarian, Dr. Katja Lang, Chief Medical Officer at Heart of Chelsea Animal Hospital.
