Catnip & Passion Flower Blend

While catnip alone is a fantastic source of stimulation, Nacho added passion flower into the mix to give cats a well-deserved dose of relaxation (and to stay true to his culinary roots.) This cat-crafted catnip brings a little spice to your cat’s day—and while it’s especially great for indoor cats (it helps them release energy), outdoor cats will dig it too. We harvest the catnip at its peak on a family farm in Alberta, Canada and pair it with the hand-sifted passion flower sourced directly from Italy and France.

Ingredients:
Catnip, Passion Flower

Roll a generous pinch of catnip between your fingers to activate the essential oils and release the aroma stored in the leaves and flowers. Sprinkle on the floor or on toys, beds, and scratching posts for your cat to enjoy.

Cats begin to enjoy catnip when they reach 6-12 months of age. Observe your cat's behavior with this product to determine suitability. Some items may be inappropriate for your cat.

Catnip can be given every other day to cats, but effects wear off after a few minutes and your cat will need a break in order to experience a reaction again.

According to our resident vet, Dr. Katja Lang, cats are attracted to nepetalactone, a key component in the stems and leaves of the catnip plant. When they smell nepetalactone, it stimulates chemicals in their brain related to mood and pleasure.

Cats will usually start rubbing their face and body on the catnip. They may roll over, vocalize and seem euphoric. In some cats, catnip is stimulating, whereas others become more sedate. Some cats may not react at all.

Dr. Lang suggests starting with a pinch to see how they react. She recommends offering it about once a week for to cats who love to party ;).

Take a pinch and rub it between your fingers to release the oils. Then sprinkle it on the floor, into a toy, in an empty Made by Nacho box, etc. You can also use it to train your cat to use a new scratching post or bed.

Store the Made by Nacho Catnip & Passion Flower Blend in a well-sealed container in a cool, dark spot.
